How do I treat a heat mark on a coffee table?

Doing house cleaning for a friend and she set something hot down on her coffee table. Now there's a light spot (about 31/2 inches across) in the finish. Is there any way to remove the spot, or to change the color of the finish back? Refinishing this is not an option.How do I treat a heat mark on a coffee table?

Sand it out then re-stain it.
if its not too bad try mayo, it works on light spots and water stains.
It's probably there for good, but you might try this. It works for water spots.



Apply some plain white toothpaste with your finger, rubbing it into the wood. Wipe clean with a soft dry cloth.
Try teak oil, this works on water marks.
