Why do people believe that the government runs the show here in the United States?

The real owners of this country are the big business corporations, big banks, and especially the Federal Reserve Bank ... not the government.



They control everything and make all the important decisions. Forget the politicians. They're just irrelevant and put there to give you the idea that you have a choice, but in reality you don't have a choice. Instead, you have corporations who are the owners. They own you and everything.



They own all the important land. They have bought and paid the senate, the congress, the state houses, the city halls, and they have the judges in their back pockets. They also own all the big media corporations, allowing them to control all the news and information you get.



They spend billions of dollars every year lobbying to get what they want. They want more for themselves and less for everybody else. They don't want a population of citizens capable of critical thinking who are well informed and educated. That doesn't help them and is against their interest.



They don't want people who are smart enough to sit around the kitchen table who are able to figure out how badly they're getting screwed by a system that threw them overboard 40 years ago. Instead, they want obedient workers who are just smart enough to run the machines and do the paper work and just dumb enough to passably accept all these increasingly crappy jobs with the lower pay, the longer hours, the reduced benefits, the end of overtime, and the vanishing pension that disappears when you go to collect it ... and now they're coming for your social security money. They want your retirement money. They want it back so they can give it to their criminal friends on Wall Street.



They'll get it all because they own this place. It's a big club and you're not in it. You and I are not in the big club. It's the same big club they use to beat you over the head with all day long in their media, telling you want to believe, what to think , and what to buy.



The game is rigged and nobody seems to notice and care, which is what the owners count on. You have good honest hard working Americans, either white collar or blue collar, it doesn't matter what color shirt you have on ... good honest hard working people with modest means who continue to elect these rich politicians who don't give a crap about them.Why do people believe that the government runs the show here in the United States?
It is pretty obvious the government now controls 1/6 of our economy. That is way too much. It really isn't a debatable fact, they control 1/6 of our economyWhy do people believe that the government runs the show here in the United States?
The president is basically a figurehead. He is the one who takes the heat, takes the blame and diverts the country from the real leaders of society that you mentioned. Everybody wants somebody to blame and Obama knows it. He's just got to look presidential and keep people focused on the non-issues.



Same thing with George W. Bush. Does anyone really think he was making important decisions? No, he was a puppet, same as the rest of them.
