I have a glass table that is 'S' shaped ,it has to be crated and I am still a novice .Any suggestions for packing it myself? How to pack and crate a glass table to be shipped without experience ?Any suggestions ?
You don't say how large the table is or how it is to be transported. Are you sending it with a moving company or are you taking it yourself in a vehicle and/or a trailer?
Here is a similar question and answer from an 'ask experts'; website for a large glass table:
Q. I have a 4ft x 8ft heavy, beveled edge glass table from Ballard Design and we are moving 700 miles from Charlotte to Washington DC- in a u haul... how would i best pack and move this table without having to hire a moving company -- or would it be best to have it professional crated and/or moved?
A. To be safe with an item like this, I would definitely have the glass placed in a wood crate. It might cost $200-$300 to crate it but it is going to be cheaper than replacing the glass top. You could easily chip the edge or corner trying to put it in the U-HAUL. You probably won't be able to stand it on end because it is 8' long so you would need to place it on its side edge. You will have peace of mind with it in a crate. Once crated, it is going to be very heavy. Be sure to have plenty of help and a 4-wheel dolly to help maneuver it.
If the table is smaller, you can wrap it in thick cardboard and secure it with packing tape.
Does this help at all?
Here is a suggestion from North American Van Lines but of course they are in the business of selling their services:
Glass Table Tops, Marble Slabs, Large Mirrors, Paintings, Statues %26amp; Large Vases - It's best to consult with your moving company about custom-made cartons and crates for items of this kind. Paper should never be permitted to touch the surface of an oil painting. How to pack and crate a glass table to be shipped without experience ?Any suggestions ?
Good luck

Take it to Kinko's, they'll do it for you, usually for free
