I have an antique dinig room table that has ';double'; legs. It has eight instead of four and it has a hand crank underneath to open and close it to add a leaf. How can I find out about it if I don't know what it is called and I can't find much online?Where can I find out about an antique table?
It is a hidden leaf table. You don't indicate the age, where it came from, any writings underneath, or the wood type. Oak, mahogany, chestnut, etc. But, I have not in all my days of refinishing antiques heard of one with a hand crank. Keep it it is a collectable for sure.Where can I find out about an antique table?
Look for manufacturer marks or tags on the bottom side of the table top. Then go from there. Sometimes you can you can find the manufacturer marks online through searches.
