I have a new table liner for a dining room table that is plastic on one side and then a soft, cotton-like underside. The wrinkles are so big from being folded into a tiny package and I need to get them out so that my table cloth will lay flat.
I'm hesitant to iron the soft underside because I'm afraid the plastic might melt.
Any suggestions? How to get wrinkles out of a table liner?
Lay a big fluffy bath towel on the table.
Lay the liner cloth side up on top of that.
Spritz the fold lines lightly with clear water. Lay another towel on the liner and steam iron over the fold lines at the lowest steam setting possible. Keep the iron moving, but press firmly. Don't use the burst of steam feature on your iron.
Work a small section at a time and keep sliding the liner over to work on the next.
Be sure you are ironing on the towel-covered table so you don't damage the table finish! How to get wrinkles out of a table liner?
You could try steaming either with a kettle or with an electric steam iron, but don't let the iron touch the plastic.
Can you put it in the dryer on low heat? Check the package to see if it offers any suggestions.
