1) Whats the best way to make the holes in the table? (I'll probably be using cheaper wood from Home Depot/Lowe's)
2) I want the cups stick up about halfway from the table. Whats the best way to align the holes so that the cups make a good rack? How do you put holes in a beer pong table for cups?
Can't help much, but the first link is of awesome tables others have done, and the second is a forum this guy is posting on about one he's making, and I'm pretty sure he's putting in the holes. Good luck! How do you put holes in a beer pong table for cups?
Yeah, I wouldn't worry about the cups moving either. It is just the name of the game. Plus when you put holes in the table, the cups sink lower. Bouncing rules like the ones at http://www.beerongleagues.com have all the information.

use either a forstner bit or a hole saw either will chuck up into an electric drillhloe saw in less money and will do an o.k. job
first of all the cups shouldnt move if they have beer in them lol and second they still shouldnt move if your using a ping pong ball. your just making extra work for yourself.
By making holes you can't rack cups properly. Why would would you do this?
use a rack from a pool table.
