Agreee w/ Jim W.
Since it is warped , might as well warp it again.
If it is small enough, into the bathtub w/ warm water.
It may cause the vener to buckle , but that can be OK, since the veneer glue will often reset when dry.
Clamp it up as mentioned or weigh it down on a smooth surface covered w/ waxed paper veneer side down.
It will take time to dry.
Do any stripping %26amp; repairs after the top is completely dry.
Reassembling the table alone may hold the top flat to the frame.
Could add a couple of cleats to the underside across the direction of the warp for insurance esp if the base wood is made up of individual boards which can separate when the piece is clamped or weighted.
Best regardsI have a broken small antique table the top is warped. How can I straighten it?
It is a project that will require you to remove all paint and varnish from it.
1. Build a flat work surface 2' bigger than the top.
2. Clamp the table to the work surface and then moisten it.
3. Form the warped area flat with more clamps.
4. Let the top dry and check for flatness.
5. Re glue all loose veneer, and clamp it flat.
6. Refinish the table.
The whole process may take 2 weeks or more. When you moisten the top, the wood will soften, it may take more time than you expect.
Enjoy the project, I have the same thing to start today.
