How can I clean my cherry dining table?

I have an antique cherry dining room table. While I was away, my cat threw up on it. Most of it came off, but the edges were dried and there's still a ring. I'm afraid to try anything too harsh, but so far I've tried polishing it off and I soaked it in lemon oil, but those didn't help too much. Anybody have any experience with anything like this? How can I clean my cherry dining table?
Please do not let lemon oil set on wood finish for a long period of time. The best cleaner i have found is a cream polish. You can also try warm water and a real mild soap. hope this helps and the cat gets better. How can I clean my cherry dining table?
mayo takes off all water stains.

use a papertowel rub in the mayo leave for 24 hours and clean as normal
