At the moment I turn my back he jumps on my kitchen table, it's table with a glass! He's 30lbs, one of these days the glass is gonna give up.How to stop my dog from jumping on the kitchen table?
cut his legs off????????? just joking!
start by putting him on a leash.........put a treat on the table, and let him know it's there without encouraging hi m to jump up in any way. (this is going to take time and patience, just like anything else.) yu can go to the end of his leash and pretend you're not paying any attention to him at all. when he tries to get the treat or jump on the table, jerk the leash and firmly tell him no. praise him when he stays down. repeat this several times every few hours. soon he should learn that it isn't acceptable. if that doesn't work, then you will have to set booby traps on the table that scare the daylights out of him. and i would hate t have to do that! How to stop my dog from jumping on the kitchen table?
go to www.ehow.com and type that question or you can just squirt him with a squirt bottle every time he does it
I agree. Squiting with a squirt bottle usually works. but I just got shock collar so whenever he jumps up I shock the hell out of him! jkjk! lol. I just set it on low and it tells them no basically
my dog used to do this to me also. the kids would let her too cuz they thought it was FUNY!!
(and yeah it kinda was)
recruit everyone in your house to watch him. water bottles or coke cans with pennies in them are great and harmless training aides
I never had luck wiht the water bottle as the dog is smart and would be up there when I wasn't in hte same room or out of the house
I found setting mousetraps they are to small to really hurt the dog but teh sound really scares them. Tehy can also be set so you don't have ot be there to see the bad behavior ( I believe they know when they can get away with things)
hope this helps
it may sound mean but go with the shock collar idea. my husband has hunting dogs that he uses it on and it works very well. i have several dogs too and ive used it on them a few times to keep them from running across the street and for barking and stuff like that since hes small you wont need one with alot of power start him out low and see what he responds to. also make sure you read the directions and understand how to use it before you put it on your dog. some of em are made with a timer that only allows you to shock em for a max of 10 sec. then it shuts off others as long as you have your finger on the button its shocking em. so do some research on it beforehand.
does he want up there b/c of ffood?
That's what my dog used to do and we put hot sauce up there and when he got up there an ate it he hasn't got up sence
squirt with water bottle.
