How can I lengthen my dining room table?

I am hosting Thanksgiving this year and I am expecting 12 people but our table is only 80 inches long. I really would like to have everyone at the same table, but I figure I will need at least another 50 inches in order to fit everyone. We have another smaller table but it isn't as wide as this one so it wouldn't look right to put them next to each other. Does anyone know of a place that sells extensions that I could use to lengthen the table? Once we put a table cloth on I think it would look fine. How can I lengthen my dining room table?
can you put a leaf in it? If so go back to where you bought it to see if they will sell you a leaf or two. Try using card tables on each end of your table. Or you could take your table out of the dinning area, rent 2 long tables and cover them with a festive holiday table cloth. How can I lengthen my dining room table?
Without knowing the height of the smaller table, I'm thinking you might be able to use a heavy gauge piece of plywood. Put it on top and hopefully it would bring the height up to the larger table (or very close).

All I could think of....

hope this helps.................
One simple and cheap option is to cut a sheet of plywood or medium density fibreboard (or melamine, whatever is on sale at your local retailer. They can do the cut for you as well) to the size you want, place it on your tabletop. If you place some rubberized matting (inexpensive at a discount store) between the two surfaces, the top should not slip and the table should not be scratched. Good luck and have fun!
